Joie de Vivre in Pyrmont

In November 2012 Men in White was involved in a project to refurnish a unit for a bed bound artist living in Pyrmont.  Men in White worked in conjunction with Marion Hansell from Renovation Runners, Katrina Hill Design Group, Dulux Australia and painters Ben Calefati and Marcus Cuilfoyle.

The artist – who is remaining anonymous – has a special love of France, has a serious health condition meant that she cannot travel by plane.  The project was to bring *Paris* to Pyrmont.  The colours were chosen by Katrina Hill from KHDG, and paint donated by Dulux Australia, and the unit was prepared and painted by Erwin Landero from MIW, Ben Calefati and Marcus Guilfoyle.

The project was organized by Marion Hansell of Renovation Runners.

The project took a week to paint, and after we finished a new timber floor was laid.

The colours chosen were subtle purples, blues, and off white colours.  A dazzling floral metallic wall paper adorned the master bedroom.  The newly decorated apartment was beautiful.  The artist had been billeted off site for two weeks, and returned once the work was complete – to a fresh new apartment with Parisian style and a sense of “joie de vivre”

It was a great project to be involved with and it felt good to be putting something back into the community.

Congratulations to Renovation Runners for organizing a first class project.
