I am a landscape architect and I regularly work with contractors and tradespeople. I supervise work contracts and demand a high standard from my contractors. I am of the opinion that you get what you pay for; and that a job well done is a job that doesn’t require re-doing. I interviewed a number of painters before choosing the Men In White Painting Service to do our painting work. I’ve now had an association with the Men in White for the last four years – and keep coming back to them to do more work on my office/residence – because they provide a thoroughly professional service. The painters are meticulous, always come when they promise to clean up with great attention to details. When I bought my building it was a complete shell. In 2007 the Men In White painted the exterior and roof garden space to render the building waterproof, provide an anti-graffiti finish and give it an attrqctive colour. Since then, they have returned to paint various interior rooms and our external hardwood deck. For a relatively small outlay, the painting work has substantially increased the building’s value. The painters are knowledgeable in paint technology and always give sound advice. The prepatory work done by the painters is excellent so that the finished surfaces are beautiful and won’t need repainting for decades. And even though I am somewhat exacting in my requirements, they always indulge extra requests to ensure that the project is entirely to my satisfaction. I have no hesitation in recommending the Men In White Painting Service and am happy to discuss my experience with them on the phone.

I’m an owner occupier and Chair of the BCC for my building. As we’re only 18 apartments, I am quite active in ensuring we keep our costs reduced as much as possible, and achieve value for money. Part of that equation has to be time factored, and how closely we have to manage supplier activities in the building, let alone such a major job as a full internal and external repaint (for the first time, after initial build). This is very important for me as I work long, stressful hours. MIW came recommended by our Strata Managers and on meeting Rohan on his initial assessment, I was very impressed. Like me he is a stickler for detail and very thorough. There were numerous site meetings and all meetings were cordial & professional and the overriding impression I was left with on MIW I ,Rohan, was he is a man of integrity. Rohan also arranged the external trades (scaffolding, rope work, Dulux etc), and this was all seamless. MIWs quotation was competitive and was duly accepted. The lead up to the job was carefully planned and with milestones on both sides, agreed in advance – and met. Once the job commenced, Rohan personally site managed every aspect of it and kept me informed on all matters that I needed to be across, and just got on with the rest. With painting, prep work is very important, and I can confirm that no corners were cut in that regard and MIW were extremely thorough. It was also a period of very heavy rainfall and there were frequent days where external painting could not occur, so they were simply moved on to internal painting and his men were thoroughly professional and always polite & accommodating. The quality of the overall finished job was first class as have been MIWs agreed 12 and 24 month follow-up inspections, and touch ups in high wear areas. There was one call back under warranty (not due to workmanship, but paint performance), and this was not contested by MIW, and the repairs duly actioned. The final castings for the job also matched what was quoted – even though in some areas MIW incurred additional costs due to unforeseeable site issues. As I am sure you can gauge by the above, I have no hesitation in recommending MIW, and in fact any future paint work I am involved in- MIW will always be the first company I call. They very simply remove much of the pain factor. I remain available should you wish to inspect my building, and the quality of the work that was performed, or to further discuss MIWs involvement.

We needed to paint our jewellery store in The Rocks. Rohan and the Men in White team gave the most thorough estimate. They were not the cheapest but nor were they the most expensive. The job had to be completed over three nights (outside retail hours) and the store had to be presentable each morning for trading. The painters were punctual, polite and incredibly good at the painting part of their job. In particular the extensive prep o f filling, sanding and cleaning was brilliant. The results are great. I am writing this as a testimonial for Rohan Calvert and his team who painted both the interior and exterior of our home last month. After receiving many quotes, Rohan struck me as the person who most understood what I wanted to do and was patient in providing unlimited advice. His team arrived promptly on the first morning of the painting job, and then every day since. As we had a floor guy coming in after two weeks we needed the team to paint the entire 3 bedroom bungalow inside and part of outside, within that 2 week period. This was done with absolutely no fuss, easily making the deadline, the men Matt and Pshemek were the most lovely men, so easy to have around our home – they were respectful, quiet, lovely to each other and extremely hard working. I note also that they went that extra mile- I noticed one day they had removed the halogen light fittings and were polishing them so that the freshly painted white ceiling would not have unpolished light fittings!! My request for magnetic paint under the main coat in the children’s rooms was easily accommodated. They removed paintings and all items of furniture were kept in original condition. The men were always on time, working hard throughout the day and then leaving the place was spotless EVERY DAY. After the first week, I took the children to London while I worked, and we therefore arrived back after the job was complete. My husband works long hours as a barrister and as such needed them to be independent of him. They came and went from the house, continuing to make progress throughout each day, and left the place in a terrific condition each night when my husband returned home. The men finished the job with a day to spare, well in time for the floor treatment. I cannot recommend this company highly enough – w e were in such good hands, and having had previous experiences that weren’t as smooth, we couldn’t have been happier. Not to mention the fabulous job they did, the place just sparkles now.
